Johan Patricny was born 1976 in Sweden. He started drawing and painting at an early age. After he had finished upper secondary school he went to Oslo, Norway, to study with Odd Nerdrum. Johan studied with him for about six months before enrolling in Oslo National Academy of Arts, Norway, in 1998. At the time this Academy had started a new class in classical painting. The studies lasted four years. The studies included copying at the Louvre in Paris, France, at Nationalmuseum in Stockholm, Sweden, and an Al Fresco workshop in Stockholm at the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design. Johan Patricny is now living in Stockholm where he is working fulltime as a painter. His work includes portrait painting, landscape painting, genre painting, illustration etc. He has exhibited in Scandinavia, Germany and the US.
